Monsuno story 2 chapter 5. Clash for control.

"I just don't get it guys. I mean who were those two?" Asked Bren as he followed the rest of the team back down the stairs into thier hide out. "What struck me as weird was they didn't have Monsunos with them ." Arabelle pointed out as he flopped down on the couch.  It  was true neither Midnight or Daybreak had launchers,  stock clips or any cores on them at all. " "What're you guys talking about, who are Midnight and Daybreak?" asked Shea turning away from her computer. It took a while to get the others caught up to speed on what they had missed but  once they were, they were just as confused as everybody else.  "Umm guys not to be harsh but I think you may wanna cut down on the late night super hero stuff." Shea chuckled as she turned around. "They were real Shea, I saw them with my own eyes." Jinja said. "Oh come on!  A human injuring a Monsuno that's like impossible heck S.T.O.R.M. goons carry those useless laser rifles with them incase they get out of control but they never work. So why would these guys weapons work."  No body had an answer for that, it really was a mystery. "I wanna know why they helped us out one minute then turn around and full blown attack us like we're thier enemies." Arabelle thought.   her fingere drummed against the arm of the couch as she tryed to figure out what they should do next,  with Chase and Zak dead all the choices and decisions had to be made by her and Jinja now. "I'm starting to see why they were always so stressed out." Jinja chuckled.

"I'd still rather have them here now though. " Belle sighed. It was becoming increasingly obvious that with out thier number one and two controllers that Team Coretech just didn't have the power they needed to stand up to serious threats.  Sure they were lucky this time but next time they may not be so lucky, they were the only hope the world had at ending this conflict once and for all not to mention finding away to keep the entire planet from exploding. "Sigh Normal teenagers don't have to worry about this kind of thing."  "We're not beaten yet guys." Vakuso said  punching his fist into his hand, he had never been one to give up when the chips were down and there was no way in hell he was going to become one now. "I've been working on a few things that may be able to turn the tide in out favor."  Jeredy grinned as he remembered what his young assistant was wtalking about. "So I take it you've been able to perfect it then?" he asked. "Well not just yet but the tech is definately in the beta now so i'm getting closer."  

"Well don't leave us in suspence, mate if you've got something up your sleeve then tell us already!" Dax said. "Cool your Jets there bandito I was just about to."  Vakuso said . "It seems like our enemies are always coming out with bigger and badder Monsunos to fight us with, so much so that our current ones just can't stand up to thier advanced powers." he explained. "Piff wow  thanks for that little bit of information Professor I would of never guess that. Oh wait I already knew cause we got our butts handed to us not 10 minutes ago!" Bren whined. "You done? So Any way I was thinking we need a way to give our guys an advantage something only we can do so I started building this, I call it a fusion core."   An Image of the fusion core then appeared on the computer screen, it was different  from the regular ones they were using right now, one aspect of that being that it was styled like a wild core but open at both ends with a lens. "So what does this thing do Vakuso?" Asked Arabelle. "I'm glad you asked. See what is it blends two different Monsunos together into one stronger one.  So for example we could take oh Arabelle's Cecile and Bren's Longfang and temporarily fuse them together into a hybrid being which is a mix of them both!" he said. The team had to admit fusing did sound pretty good and if it would give them an advantage they would try it. " So how does the core work?"  "First the two fusion componant Monsunos have to be spun out already  thier controllers both spin the fusion core which sucks the ir chosen beast inside it. The middle then opens and the essences are released  into the air. After that they should merge into thier new form. Once merged both controllers need to be in prefect synch with each other to operate this new beast. The fusion will also give them extended fight time."

"Is there a way to reverse the fusion or is it permanant?" questioned Jinja. "No  all the two controllers have to do is say the command "Seperate." and the fusion is undone, sadly there are still a few bugs to work out. After fusing the two monsunos used need an extended recharge time so can't be used for a while."  That and the other problem was Vakuso was still putting the core itself together but if everything worked out like he planned he hoped to have it done in the next week. "Ok Vakuso this sounds good,  so you need to focus on getting this Fusion core up and running." Luna said  as she stood up.  The dark haired boy nodded in understanding, "I also have something to say, I think it's about time we got moving again, considering all the S.T.O.R.M. soldiers around this town that are looking for us It won't be much longer until they locate our base." Jeredy Told them luckilly he had just what they needed a more mobile base of operations  somewhere  they could  work and be harder to pin down. " We should probably start packing up and go now." Jon advised, the team then got down to work moving thier gear out.

"Hey, does anyone else think that Luna is kind of being a little bit bossy or something?" asked Luminari as she  loaded up a small box with her gear she had with her. "Technicly she is Chase's older sister so she is  in the right to command the team." Shea pointed out. "Piff, she's only 5 minutes older and I don't see what difference that makes, we were doing fine before she showed up." Arabelle spat. So far she thought that Chase's twin was  nothing but a pain in the rear end. " You can come but don't get in my way. Watch out! I thought you were good at this don't you know what you are doing."     Arabelle let out a low growl as she grit her teeth and shook her head, trying desperately to get the elder Suno's words out of her head. What right did she have coming in here and telling them what to do or how to fight?  "Hey Belle you ok there? You look like you've got something on your mind." Asked Bren. "Umm Oh no, no, I'm Ok B  don't you worry."  she said with a smile. "Umm I'll be right back I need some Air." Arabelle said as she put her box down inside a small wagon and then started upstairs.

"Well at least the rain's have finally let up." she said as she stepped out of the base and into the open lot.  A few faint rays of sunlight could be seen as they started to break thier way through the clouds and dry up the water logged ground.  Arabelle wiped off  the top of a nearby dumpster and sat down on top of it, she just needed some time to think and process everything that had just happened.  "Chase, I miss you so much," she thought as she dug into her shirt and pulled out a small locket he had given her one day when they were free from battling. She clicked it open and gazed at the two pictures inside it, One of them was just of her and Chase smiling together his arms were wrapped around her waist as he held her close to him in a loving embrace, the other one was of the two of them  but Zak and Jinja were also there, Zak was giving her a light noogie in the picture, "Heh heh, you're like my second brother, It's all thanks to that collar you made me that I'm able to talk again."  she said smiling.  Arabelle  felt a few tear droplets starting to form in her eyes,  why wouldn't this pain just go away and let her move on why couldn't she forget them?! "Maybe I don't wanna forget, I want them to still be alive and here with us." she wept.  She had lost her family, her brother, and now her true love and second brother as well everything seemed like it was dissapearing from her life.  "Hemm I thought I'd find you out here. Funny though you don't strike me as the lone wolf type."   Arabelle looked up and saw Luna heading her way her arms folded across her chest. "She looks so much like Chase but her attitude is totally different." thought the red haired girl. " I really regret not being there to help at the final battle. Maybe if I had of been I could of done something to save them."  Luna said.

"We can't change the past." Arabelle said to her briskly. "No but we can insure the future they wanted doesn't go to waste. So I should tell you now, I'm taking over leadership of team Coretech, indefinately." Arabelle's head shot up and her eyes narrowed at Luna how could she just say that out of no where  she clearly didn't respect that Jinja and her had been the ones running the team all this time before Luna came along! "Excuse me I may not of heard you right, You're taking over, Uhh huh, Sorry missy but that doesn't fly with me, I've been doing just fine  leading the team myself and Jin,been helping. "Yes and look how well you two are doing now. Face it we need  firm disiplined and thought out tactical methods to win this war, not two little school girls fumbling around  trying to fill a pair of shoes that are too big for them. "Little school girl! Ok That's going to far I admit I messed up before in that battle but no body ever asked you to save me. Cecile and I have our own way of battling. " It sure didn't look that way to me. No formal training no disipline  heck you barely landed that one blow and opened yourself to a countershot."  Arabelle clenched her fists tight as Luna continued to grind her gears even further. "Look  if you've got some kind of problem with me then just come on out and say it."  "Yeah I do, I wanna know how the heck my baby brother got stuck with such a weakling like you for a girlfriend and teammate. If you were just a little bit stronger or more like a lot stronger maybe he and this Zak would still be here!!"

"Get away from me, Move it!!!"  Arabelle spat as she shoved Luna out of the way and stormed back down stairs. "That's right just walk away! But I mean what I said before I'm in command now!" Arabelle flipped Luna the bird over her shoulder not even giving her the grace of showing her face. " Says I'm weak, thinks I have no business being her Damn it!!! If she wants to be in charge, she's in for a hard ass time getting it."
