Monsuno story 2 chapter 10. The fusion core.

Far from the noise and bussle of town, the woods seemed to have a quiet and peaceful serenity to them. Birds flew high above in the skies  chirping thier songs happily, squrrels scampered about in the trees looking for acorns and nuts to stow away for the fast approaching winter. While on the ground small heards of deer could be seen  searching through the leaf litter for thier daily meals, out in  the distence the howl of a lone wolf could be heard. Yes this was a place free of any violence or  warfare at least for the moment. With out warning a shot rang out, a yellow beam of light surged though the forest and  hit a nearby oak tree causeing it to crash down to the ground with a thunderous thud all the animals nearby ran for safety.  "They're up in the trees! Don't you dare lose sight of them!" Yelled a voice.  The ground  rumbled as a small platoon of S.T.O.R.M. soldiers  raced though the forest shooting towards the  tree tops as they did so thier targets were the ever troublesome masked duo, Midnight and Daybreak.

The duo had only recently sprang up here, and already had trashed a nearby mining area and base almost beyond recognition. After hearing of this Charlemange gave the order that these two rouges were to be brought to her either in chains or dead she really didn't care which.  Fortunately for the  rouge pair the Soldiers were not exactly the best of shots. So far they hadn't even broken a sweat against the  muscle bound meat heads and the shots that did hit well thier armor protected them from that.  There was a  split in the trail up ahead the perfect place to go on the counter attack. nodding towards each other they split away each landing on a  different tree branch as the Soldiers stopped below them. "So! You  little punks finally gonna stop running and fight us!?" asked the commanding officer.  "Our leader Charlemange has asked for you two to come with us, Unless you wanna get seriously beaten I suggest you  come quietly."   Daybreak held his left arm out as a small   blaster barrel slid out on the  top of his gauntlet, "Well here's my answer for you." he said firing the weapon  and sending the soldier  flopping back onto the ground.  Midnight  tapped his belt buckle and  pulled out a handful of small  round black beeping spheres. "Bombs away!" he  called out tossing them down. "Grenades men take cover!!"  While they were indeed grenades they were filled with smoke not explosives. In the smoke cloud that followed Midnight went to work with his arm blades  slicing thought the cheap metal that made up the soldiers armor and  blasters.  " You little punk! I'm gonna blow your damn head off!!!"  Yelled the  leader reaching for his weapon again  but Daybreak stopped that  in its tracks    with a flying kick to the head.   "Man who the heck are these guys! There's only two of them and like 14 of us! We should be whooping thier asses!"   "Heh think you may need to go back to school, cause obviously you can't count." Daybreak said. The soldiers had no clue what the white armored warrior meant but  soon knew.

Out of nowhere  she came, a third warrior  clad in a red suit just like Midnight and Daybreak's only slimmer and showed more obvious that she was a a girl. "Another one?! The boss never said that there was a red one!"  Said a  confused soldier. "I got a name too  you dunce, name's Sunrise, but given your small pea sized brain I doubt you'll remember it." Sunrise taunted as she  attacked ina furious barrage of  kicks and  punches, what she lacked in weapons like her comrades she made up for with  agility and   speed.  By the time she was done with them the S.T.O.R.M. soldiers were  all rushing  clean back to thier boss with thier tails tucked between thier legs. "Getting beaten up  by a girl, heh how embarressing for you!"  Sunrise taunted. "Sunrise just  drop it ok! We are on a tight dead line,  It's still aways to Pidgon forge and we need to  make it before it gets dark." Midnight said retracting his blades. The  red armored female nodded and  fell instep behind him as Daybreak took the lead  swiftfully and silently they flew though the forest   knowing fully well that Charlemange's attempts to capture them now would be  accelerated.

Meanwhile Back with the Coretech team  they had just gotten back to the lab train with thier new recruit Blake and a small container of Monsuno essence in toe. So as one could expect they were quite happy and eager to share in thier discovery with Jeredy and the others. "We're baaack, and we've got presents!" Luna said to them as they entered the  main car.  Jon ace, Vakuso and Shea were all there but Jerdey was no where to be seen. "Hey, where's the Doc? He  flake out on us and  run off?" Asked Dax. Luna growled at the smart assed comment and  stomped down hard on Dax's foot to show her displeasure at it. "Ouch!!!"  "Sorry Luna, but Jeredy's still asleep in bed right now, he's been working long and hard into the night so  we figure  he deserves some rest." Jon ace  yawned.  The  female Suno nodded in understanding and placed the container down on the table infront of her. "Yowza!   Just what we needed and  talk about good timeing too." Shea said  picking the  container up and shaking it. " We should be able to  make some new beasties with this."  "Yes but we have to use it sparingly, with our own supplies so low we need to find a larger cash and stock up." Jon pointed out tapping the glass sides of the container,  this amount would allow them to create like 6 new Monsunos,  maybe 8 if they were  careful in mixing in the  animal DNA and chemical elements.   "I see we have a new recruit too." Vakuso said  motioning towards Blake who simply nodded. "I hope I can be of use to you guys, I'm pretty good with tech too incase it should come up." he said.  

"Speaking of tech, You guys got back just in time." Vakuso grinned as he placed a core down on the table. The verything that the three of them had been working on for weeks trying to get finished and ready for battle. "So that's the Fusion core?" Jinja asked  looking at the  blue and silver device on the table before them. "Yep. Two already spun out Monsunos stand on opposite each other and thier controllers both spin out the core, it sucks them inside it and  figures out the best combo form for them to take on together. then the middle opens and the essences are fused in the air  creating the new beast."  he explained.  Of course it wasn't battle tested yet and there were still risks that it wouldn't  work so  they still needed to run some follow up work. "What ever you have to do  guys,  we've gotta make a move  while we are down here, with all the  veins off essence that run through these hills. We can't let Charlemange or  any of her goons get thier  hands on a drop." Belle pointed out.   The others nodded in agreement and the best way to stop her from  getting anything was to hit the bases that had sprung up in the area and totally crush them.   It would be  grueling work tracking them all down but it had to be done. "I'll get to work on finding any that are nearby. You kids should take this time to   recharge cause as of now we're on active  watch again." Jon said.  With a sigh the   team  broke into thier own  routines trying to do just that.

Little did they know that Charlemange was going to be only one of the problems soon. Over head in the cloud filled sky A large air ship  flew  consealed   for the most part by the thick white clouds.  "Hemm so this is where you chose to head next, ehh my little sister?" Ben asked as he  looked out the Bridge window at the  town below.  He grinned as he was quite excited, this mission not only gave him a chance to test out his newly created Strata Monsunos but also see his dear little sister again as well. "I'm only going to warn you about this one time Ben should this mission of yours fail to produce any  useful results. You can consider the allience between Eklipse and Strata terminated." Klipse warned. Ben had some how managed to convince him to  come here to Pigeon forge with promises of essence veins and a chance to get rid of Coretech and S.T.O.R.M. once and for all.  This of course meant that all his  current experiments had to be put on  hold. "Trust me Klipse,  when this is over  the only Ones left standing will be the two of us."  "That's what you said before with your fancy shmancy  Juggernaut system and look how that turned out!" Mr. Black spat. "A  regretable   outcome yes but I feel this time  everything will go as planned." Ben said. "Hemm, it's not a fairly large town  so that means it should be  childs play to locate the bother some brats." Klipse grabbed Backslash and Gigano rex's cores from his belt and  hummed. "The game ends today, Team coretech.
